Grade Two visit:
Chloe and Michael – We went to Mr. Winton’s class. We got a Gr. 2 buddy and the Gr. 2 buddy showed us around. They showed us a lot of stuff while we were asking questions. Then after that we sang ‘Firework’! Mr. Winton’s class loves it too!!!

Jakob and Quintin – Today was the last assembly for the school year. At 8:00, our whole class went to the assembly. At the end of the assembly we were very tired. Mr. Rourke and Mr. Gillespie read a bed time story about two best friends.
Visit the ES blog to see some of what happened at the assembly: http://es.ism-online.org/2011/05/20/es-final-assembly/ (there is a link on the right side of this page). Mr. Gillespie is moving on to be the Middle School principal and there was a surprise for him to say thank you for his hard work in the ES!
Last week, we spent some time cloud watching! We drew clouds, talked about what clouds are made of, thought about what they look like, and we wrote poems about them. We learned about a style of poem called a cinquain (sin-kane). Here some examples:

Can you explain what a cinquain poem is? To see more poems, visit the bulletin board outside our classroom!
